Please use the following as best practices to get the strongest return on ad spend for your ad campaign:
Creative:
Make sure to run photogenic, attention-grabbing, and highly compelling brand images that get users interested in your ad.
Welcome emails:
Introduce financing to your customers and tap unmet consumer demand with a welcome campaign. Language and examples can be found below.
Ongoing emails:
Add a financing banner to all outbound customer emails, linking to your Financing Page.
Abandoned carts:
Language below to target customers who have abandoned their cart, using one of the following strategies:
- All Customers: Consider retargeting anyone who lands on the website (particularly for high AOV, high consideration products).
Non-healthcare merchants can retarget customers using the Bread Pay "Applicant Report" in your Bread Pay merchant portal to increase take rates by most effectively targeting abandoned users:
2. Didn't provide enough information to see if pre-qualified: Reassure customers who have abandoned the form that financing is fast and doesn’t impact their credit score.
3. Approved: Send an email to approved customers reminding them that they can pursue financing.
4. Denied: Offer a promotion to encourage the customer to continue with their purchase. Do not mention Bread Pay or the denial. Example copy: “You are a valued customer. Use this promo code: XXX to receive $50 OFF your purchase!”*

Automated Retargeting
Please note that Bread Pay™ also retargets customers on your behalf, sending automated retargeting emails to customers who have been approved with Bread Pay™ but have not completed their purchase. These emails are sent on behalf of the merchant and direct the customer back to the merchant’s site to complete their transaction.
Bread sends the following types of retargeting emails"
- Pre-decision: Sent to shoppers who have exited the Bread modal before receiving a prequalification decision. (Email: 10 minutes)
- Cart abandonment: Sent to shoppers who prequalify with Bread but abandon their cart. This message will showcase credit limit approvals and the cart item if applicable. (Email: 30 minutes, 24 hours)
- Cart Abandonment — Credit Decision Expiration: Sent 6 days after shopper who has prequalified abandons their cart. (Email: 6 days after the prequalification decision, including countdown clock prior to credit decision expiration)
